A freedom of information request by the Press Association has revealed the huge volume of attempted visits to pornographic websites by people using the Houses of Parliament network. Between March and October last year, Parliament recorded a total of 30,876 attempted/blocked visits, making an average of 202 per day.
There are roughly 8,500 devices with access to the network, used by MPs, peers and staff. Despite the large amount, this is in fact a lot less than previous years. In 2015, there were a total of 213,020 attempts. A parliamentary spokesman said that the vast majority of the recorded instances were not deliberate.
