York has been named Britain's favourite city in a new YouGov poll. The research quizzed 55,000 people about 57 English, Welsh and Scottish with respondents asked to like their top locations. York, the historic walled city on the confluence of the River Ouse and Foss, was liked by 92 percent of the survey's respondents.
Bath in Somerset has traditionally proven one of the UK's most popular cities and the YouGov poll reinforces its reputation. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1987, 89 percent of those polled like Bath. Edinburgh, the Scottish capital, is well known for its stunning historical and cultural attractions. It is the third most popular city in Britain, liked by 88 percent of those polled.
