A survey published this week by Kwik Fit reveals the actions which drivers in the UK find most annoying. Top of the list was other drivers using a mobile phone handset to talk, text or use social media. The classic middle lane hogging didn't make the top of the last, but was still cited by 24 percent of respondents as one of their top five pet peeves. The research comes as the government attempts to close legal loopholes related to mobile phone offences - something which at least 56 percent of drivers would seemingly be in support of.
On the subject of mobile phone use, Kwik Fit communications director Roger Griggs said: “It’s vital for road safety that we make using the phone when driving as socially unacceptable as drinking and driving. Until we have fully autonomous vehicles, anything which diverts a driver’s attention from the road is a risk to their safety and those of the road users around them.”
