According to a ranking compiled by HSBC, the United States has the highest tuition fees for international students of any country worldwide - $24,914. Australia comes a close second with $24,081.
However, when the cost of living is factored in, the overall cost of a study year in Australia rises to $42,093 compared to $36,564 in the United States. Asia is a cheaper option for students. Chinese universities have an average annual fee of $3,844 while in Malaysia, it is only $2,453. International students studying in Germany pay an average of just $635 each year in tuition fees.
