Area burnt by forest fires in Russia in 2019, by region

In the Far Eastern federal district of Russia, nearly six million hectares were burnt by forest fires from January 1 to December 30, 2019. The region with the second largest burnt area was the Siberian federal district which lost approximately 4.1 million hectares of its forested area due to forest fires over the same period of time.
