Responsibility regarding online user data collection regulation in the U.S. 2019
According to a December 2019 survey of registered U.S. voters, the majority of survey respondents thought that the companies collecting and sharing user data should ultimately also be most responsible for its online protection, and 13 percent believed that the government should be accountable.
