Value of investment in green finance of Banco Santander globally 2022, by type
In 2019, Santander joined a growing number of the world's largest banks in making a financial commitment to sustainable financing and investments to help projects, technologies, and clean energies in delivery of the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Banco Santander's goal is to facilitate and mobilize 120 billion euros of green finance between 2019 and 2025. Between 2019 and 2030 the bank wants the level of green finance to have reached 220 billion euros. During 2022, Banco Santander reached over 28 billion in green finance, with the majority in project finance (financial adviser).
