Leading banks in Europe 2021, by global number of customers
As of 2021, Spanish banking giant Banco Santander had the highest number of customers of any European bank included, at approximately 153 million. The number of customers is seen as a significant key performance indicator (KPI) when it comes to understanding the size of a company and its importance to the economy in general.
