From March to June 2020, the number of bankruptcies showed a sharp increase as a consequence of the spread of the coronavirus in Sweden and the world. In March and April 2021, there were fewer bankruptcies than the previous year, before it started increasing again in July and September. In April 2022, there were fewer bankruptcies in some industries and more in others, most notably in surveillance, real estate, and other office services, where the number of bankruptcies increased by 86 percent compared to April 2021.
