In January 2020 the first cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in Europe were confirmed in France, there have now been 270,744,353 confirmed cases in Europe as of January 13, 2023. The week beginning January 24, 2022 saw the highest number of new cases in Europe in a single week with around 12.1 million new cases.
