Number of tourists after the coronavirus outbreak in Denmark 2020, by nationality

In light of the coronavirus outbreak, fewer domestic and international tourists are visiting Denmark. When compared to March and April 2019, the number of both domestic and international tourists decreased significantly in the corresponding months of 2020. While there were roughly 626 thousand domestic tourists in Denmark in April 2019, the number reached around 81 thousand as of April 2020. With approximately 7.7 thousand tourists in April 2020, the number of international tourists decreased drastically compared to the previous year.

On March 11, 2020, Denmark officially shut down and closed all borders only a few days later. For further information about the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, please visit our dedicated Facts and Figures page.
