Outbound tourism expenditure from Turkey 2003-2023

The expenditure of outbound tourists from Turkey increased by over 65 percent in 2023 over the previous year, after dropping sharply in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, outbound tourism spending amounted to 7.07 billion U.S. dollars in 2023, rising from 1.85 billion U.S. dollars in 2021 and reaching above pre-pandemic levels.
