In 2020, around 68 percent of respondents in Brazil strongly or somewhat agreed that unless men took actions to support women's rights, gender equality would not improve. Around 30 percent of the people interviewed disagreed with the statement. Even a lesser share of Brazilians thought having more women in leadership positions would promote gender equality.
