American podcast users prefer to have ad-supported podcasts that are available for free, rather than paying for ad-free content, although the majority would be most in favor of a mix of the two options. These attitudes are broadly consistent among both men and women, although female respondents were slightly more in favor of a mix of ad-based and free content, with 65 percent of respondents preferring a combination of paid podcasts without advertisements, and free access with ad-support.
