E-commerce spending growth in Nigeria 2019, by category

In 2019, e-commerce of food and personal care in Nigeria experienced the largest growth among the different groupings. Compared to the previous year, online sales of food and personal increased by 50 percent. The fashion and beauty sector grew by 43 percent, representing the second fastest growing online industry. The travel sector recorded the slimmer growth. However, travel and accommodation was the most valuable e-commerce category in 2019, which accounted for over three billion U.S. dollars.
