
Production value of plums from South Africa 2000-2019
As of 2018/19, the production value of plums from South Africa declined to 918.4 million South African Rands (56.6 million U.S. dollars), down from 1.09 billion Rands (66.9 million U.S. dollars) in the previous year. Since 2000, an overall upgoing trend was registered in the production value, with slight dips in few years. In 2005/06, there was a drop of 21.8 percent due to the drought which affected the Western Cape.
