In 2018, the agricultural sector in Nicaragua contributed with approximately 15.5 percent of the value added to the country's gross domestic product (GDP), the highest contribution reported for the region. In contrast, the lowest contribution was reported by Trinidad and Tobago, with a share of less than 0.5 percent.
The agricultural sector includes forestry, hunting, and fishing, as well as cultivation of crops and livestock production.
