South Africa: sales volume of pineapples 2000-2019

The sales volume of pineapples in South Africa declined in 2018/2019 to 23,703 metric tons, a decrease of nearly 15 percent in comparison to the previous season. In 2017/2018, the sales volume in the local market reached a peak of 27,833 metric tons. The pineapple type Queen dominates the local markets, with more than 90% of the sales.
