Breakdown of cumulative subsidies from Japan Arts Fund FY 2021, by purpose
As of the fiscal year 2021, a cumulative total of around 9.1 billion Japanese yen of the Japan Arts Fund was utilized for the creation and promotion of modern theater in Japan. Since its beginning in 1990, a cumulative total of approximately 43.9 billion yen of subsidies was provided for cultural causes from the fund. The fund is managed by the Japan Arts Council and mainly founded on the grant of the government and donation of private groups.
