Top reasons for book reading in Mexico 2022
During a survey conducted among literate adults in urban Mexico in February 2022, around 44 percent of respondents said they read books for entertainment. Almost 24 percent cited work or study as a reason, while nearly 21 percent of the interviewees stated that they read books to obtain general knowledge. Approximately one out of 10 respondents mentioned religion as their motivation. Meanwhile, literate adults' leading reasons for not reading books in Mexico included lack of time and interest.
