Comfort level of attending outdoor sporting events 2020, by capacity
The COVID-19 pandemic that spread across the world in 2020 was not only a big threat to public health, but also to the entire sports industry. Many sports fans were ready to return to arenas to support their favorite team, but there remained concerns about the potential spread of the virus in large crowds. During an October 2020 survey in the United States, 51 percent of respondents stated that they would be comfortable attending outdoor sporting events at 25 percent capacity.
