COVID-19: public opinion on going to sporting events as of April 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic that spread across the world at the beginning of 2020 was not only a big threat to public health, but also to the entire sports industry. Many professional leagues closed their doors to spectators or postponed their seasons entirely. During an Aprl 2020 survey in the United States, some 71 percent of respondents stated that they were much less likely to attend a sporting event based on what they knew about the coronavirus.
