The share of food retail sales made online in predominantly food stores in Great Britain saw its biggest growth in January 2021, when the coronavirus (COVID-19) containment measures were tightened in the United Kingdom. Since then, the proportion of online food retail slowly decreased. Most recent figures showed that share of food retail sales made online was at 8.1 percent as of February 2023.
