As of 2020, the most preferred way by Europeans to clean dishwashers was by using a special dishwasher cleaning detergent, with 68 percent reporting to use this method. Other methods used were dishwasher cleaning cycles, or high-temperature programs, with 36 and 24 percent of Europeans employing these methods respectively.
