Number of pupils in primary school in Tunisia 2014-2021, by type of institution
In the school year 2020/2021, a total of around 1.3 million pupils were enrolled in primary schools in Tunisia. The vast majority (over 90 percent) attended public educational institutions, while private schools attracted only 101,000 pupils in the same academic year. In the period under review, the number of enrollees in first-cycle education in the country increased annually.
