In the 2020/2021 school year, the number of public middle (or lower secondary) and secondary (or upper secondary) school teachers in Tunisia stood at 73,474. In the period under review, the number of teachers peaked in 2015/2016 at around 75,000. A gender gap was observed in the teaching staff, with more women than men.
