While only 2019 data is available for the U.S., listed companies in the U.S. had a total market capitalization of almost 34 trillion U.S. dollars - against 12.2 trillion U.S. dollars recorded by second-placed China in 2020. Japan ranked third with a total market capitalization of just over 7.7 trillion U.S. dollars.
