Reasons for migrating among young people and children in Africa 2020
Drivers of migration can be very different from person to person as well as from region to region. Among young people and children interviewed from North and the Horn of Africa between 2019 and 2020, economics and security reasons were indicated as the main reasons for moving. The young migrants were interviewed across Egypt, Somalia, Sudan, and Ethiopia, but 60 percent of the respondents were not nationals of the countries in which they were interviewed.
