Crowdfunding in Spanish biotech companies 2016-2021
In 2021, crowdfunding operations in biotechnology companies in Spain amounted to around 8.41 million euros, down from approximately 10.34 million euros reported a year earlier. Although this represents a decrease of about 19 percent in the amount received by biotech companies through this type of capital funding, the volume of crowdfunding operations in the biotechnology sector grew by about 7.21 million euros between 2016 and 2021. In the last year featured, Spanish biotechnological companies received private capital raises for around 183 million euros.
