Canadians' views on budget focus on sustainable practices 2021, by voting intentions
On April 19, 2021, the Canadian government announced its first federal budget since the pandemic. When asked about it a few days earlier, the majority of Canadians felt that this budget should present a plan to shift the Canadian economy away from fossil fuels and other environmentally unfriendly practices to sustainable economic ones, based on renewable and alternative energy production. Those most enthusiastic about this idea were voters of the Green Party (87 percent), those of the Bloc Quebecois (85 percent), the Liberal Party (83 percent) and the New Democratic Party (80 percent). Conservative Party supporters and those voting for other parties were more likely to be opposed.
