In 2022, a survey asked Canadian consumers to express their opinion on the commitment to sustainability of grocery stores. The result showed that 56 percent of people found it really important to donate food instead of throwing it out. Of significant importance were also reusable bag incentives and locally-source produce and animal products, which both scored 46 percent. Furthermore, the issue that seems not to raise much concern is the electric vehicle charging stations, as 46 percent of respondents were not concerned by it.
