Support for the LNG Quebec/Pipeline project among Quebecers 2020-2021
The Quebec LNG/Pipeline project is a proposal to export gas from Western Canada via a pipeline across Quebec (from Abitibi to the Saguenay), and then shipped overseas via the Saguenay Fjord and the St. Lawrence River. When asked about it in March 2021, only six percent of Quebecers said they had a very favorable attitude to the project, a drop of five points compared to November 2020. By contrast, 28 percent of Quebecers were very opposed to LNG Quebec, the largest increase of the attitudes assessed in November.
