Public support for policies that can help Canada meet its new climate target 2021
Government policies appear to be one of the most important levers for action in the fight against climate change. Yet, there is near-unanimous support among Canadians for specific policies that could help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help the country meet its climate targets. When asked about this in 2021, they were indeed 91 percent in favor of ensuring that all new government infrastructure is built using low-carbon materials, 87 percent in favor of car manufacturers making more e-vehicles available, and 88 percent in support of Canadian electricity being generated via emission-free sources over the next decade.
