Gender violence cases in Italy 2020-2021, by type

Between January and March 2021, in Italy, about 4.3 thousand cases of gender violence were reported by call to 1522, a gender violence and stalking helpline. Over the period spanning from the beginning of 2020 to March 2021, the most cases were reported between April and June 2020, over 5.6 thousand. During the 15 months under consideration, physical and psychological abuse were consistently the most common types of violence endured by the victims.
