Opinions on sexist situations in Italy 2021, by gender
In a survey on sexism conducted in Italy in 2021, female respondents seemed to recognize sexist situations more often than their male counterparts. For instance, a larger percentage of female interviewees pointed to sexist work-related situations, such as when a job ads exclude or discourage people of a specific gender to apply for that position. Similarly, female respondents stressed that it was sexist when it would be assumed in a work environment that a person could not be able to take on responsible roles due to family commitment or planning. In addition, 91 percent of female and only 77 percent of male respondents found it sexist that victims of sexual crimes and crimes committed by a partner were to blame for the crime.
