Precautions adopted to avoid unsafe situations in Italy 2021, by gender

According to the results of a survey conducted in Italy in 2021, both female and male respondents took different kinds of measures to avoid or to prepare themselves for unsafe situations. Some of the most common precautions adopted by both male and female interviewees were avoiding certain areas, keeping an eye on the surroundings as well as keeping the phone nearby. Some behaviors which were largely more adopted by women than by men were avoiding talking to strangers, informing other people about where they were and what they were doing, and avoiding being alone after a given hour.
