Traditional makgeolli from famous regions was the most popular type of the Korean rice wine, makgeolli, according to around half of respondents in a survey in South Korea in 2021. Following was makgeolli with no additives, top quality, and eco-friendly ingredients. This suggests the premium makgeolli coming to the market will show good growth in the future. Novel makgeollis such as makgeolli mixed with fruits or health functional ingredients were also popular.
