Share of app downloads in Australia 2020-2021, by platform
During the second quarter of 2021, Apple iOS users in Australia accounted for more than 60 percent of the total app downloads for the quarter. By comparison, apps downloaded from Google Play made up 38 percent of the total during the same period. Between the beginning of 2020 and the first half of 2021, users in Australia consistently downloaded more iOS apps than they did from the Google Play Store. In the first half of 2021, mobile apps across several categories amassed more than 500 million downloads from users in Australia.
