Japan: popular means of cashless payment in supermarkets by type 2021

According to a survey conducted in Japan in December 2021, credit cards were the leading type of cashless payment method when shopping at supermarkets. While around 67 percent of consumers used credit cards in major nationwide chains, only about 6.3 percent of the respondents used debit cards at major chains.
