Australia: frequency of internet searches using smartphones 2021

In a survey conducted in May 2021, 87 percent of respondents aged 18-34 years stated that they used a smartphone daily to search for information or content online. Just under half of the respondents aged 65 and over reported using a smartphone to search the internet on a daily basis.

Respondents owned or were the main user of both a mobile phone and a personal computer and had to be able to access the internet from both devices.

In the 18-34 year age group, the combined share of respondents who used a smartphone to search for information on the internet 'at least once per month', 'less often than once per month', or 'never', was two percent.
