In an attempt to reactivate the economy strongly impacted by the nationwide lockdown implemented to contain the spread of COVID-19, Colombia's government designated a series of tax-free shopping days in 2020. Given its success, the event seems to be here to stay, held in 2021 and scheduled again for 2022. In its two editions in 2022, the "días sin IVA" culminated in approximately 3.5 million online transactions and e-commerce sales of almost 1.4 trillion Colombian pesos.
