Main foreign countries where global shoppers last bought online 2022
China is the market where most consumers worldwide made their last cross-border online purchase, according to a survey conducted in October 2022 in 39 countries globally. Brazilian and Chilean cross-border shoppers took the lead, with up to 68 percent of respondents having bought from China the last time they purchased abroad. Digital buyers in South Korea, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, and India primarily purchased from the U.S. In turn, Germany was the main market where shoppers in Luxembourg, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, and Finland last bought from when shopping abroad.
