In 2021, Walmart generated 2.1 billion U.S. dollars with its retail media platform Walmart Connect. European fashion and beauty retailer Zalando generated 130 million dollars with its advertising business in the same year. In late 2022, Carrefour - displaying the lowest revenue among the seven presented platforms - announced a joint venture with Publicis to boost its retail ad business in Europe and Latin America.
