A survey conducted in 2022 among Australian consumers uncovered that around 33 percent of respondents were very or somewhat likely to trust green claims made by online-only businesses. At the same time, 27 percent of those surveyed said they never trusted online business eco-friendly claims. Overall, claims made by online-only or international businesses were the least trusted among consumers in Australia.
