Income and expenditure of resident basic medical insurance fund in China 2012-2021
In 2021, the urban and rural resident basic medical insurance fund in China received an income of 972 billion yuan, while spending almost 930 billion yuan. Most basic medical insurance participants in China were beneficiaries of the resident basic medical insurance program. However, the resident medical insurance fund received significantly lower funding than the employee basic medical insurance fund.
