A survey conducted among Indian gamers in August 2022, revealed that 68 percent of hardcore gamers chose to devote more than one hour daily on streaming platforms watching game livestreams. In comparison, more than half the casual gamer respondents chose to spend up to an hour per day on these streaming platforms. Hardcore gamers were reportedly more aware of various streaming platforms and chose to watch gaming content for entertainment as well as skill enhancement.
