Popular mobile game genres India 2022, by in-app spend
Shooting games accounted for the highest consumer spending in India in 2022 which grossed over 41 million U.S. dollars, which made it the leading mobile game category in the market. Strategy games followed second. The sports category raised approximately 13 million dollars in in-app purchase revenue that year. It was worth noting that consumer spending on mobile games in India grew to 190 million dollars that year despite Indian consumers being conservative spenders.
