According to surveys held in 2015 and 2024, the share of respondents in the United States who said they were very or extremely interested in news dropped from 67 percent to 52 percent in that time period. Interest in news in the United Kingdom also fell sharply in that time period, and news fatigue and avoidance continue to be growing issues among audiences around the world.
