According to a survey conducted in 2023, women were more often disappointed by holiday gifts than men in the Netherlands. Nearly 60 percent of Dutch women had, at some point, received Christmas or Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas) presents that they did not want, compared to 45 percent of men.
