Forecast global climate finance annual needs 2022-2050
In 2022, global climate finance averaged nearly 1.3 trillion U.S. dollars. The annual need for climate finance is expected to rise dramatically over the next decades. By 2030, roughly nine trillion U.S. dollars will be required annually, and that figure is to reach an estimated 10.8 trillion U.S. dollars by 2050. Despite the considerable increase in climate finance requirements, the amount needed is only a fraction of the economic losses due to climate change estimated under a business-as-usual scenario.
